I have had so many discussions about his suckiness... and im always the only one who agrees with myself. Hes just one big mediocre guy and somewhere along the road, someone made a mountain out of a molehill. His voice sounds like any other boring fellow off the street, and his guitar playing is something i could do (I don't even play guitar). Songs are boring and repetitive. Jack Johnson the hockey player sucks! Been a Kings fan since 1988 and I have to say he is one of the worst defensemen in his own zone that I have ever seen. Put him at forward if you want to keep hi around! He's personally responsible for at least half of their losses this year, and that's being generous!

I think its sad that a guy who has done so much for fellow humans and the enviroment that we all live on, is viewed in such a negative way. If you take the time to listen to his lyrics and think a bit, you would find alot of word play and meaning behind them. I find he has alot of "soul" in his lyrics. Regardless if you like his style or not, at least respect him for his effort put forth in trying to make the world a better place for generations to come, instead of buying fancy clothes, cars, and bling. This world is so fixated on material crap we can make nowadays instead of using what we have learned to improve ourselves as a whole. So many people go hungry and even lack a home to call thier own, and yet all we want to do is use our knowledge to make faster cars and bigger tvs.

OMG just how small is your brain? Does anyone even look at the rest of the page before posting??? Other Kings hockey players listed, lists of hockey teams, lists of other hockey players recently posted about... This is a site for the one that plays hockey. JJ doesn't play hockey. he lives in hawaii for gods sake! and second, i have all his music and if you get to know it, its respectable. and, for the person who says surfing isn't amazing, its so hard. i bet you've never even tried. so yes, i respect him and i think all of you jj haters out there should just listen to his songs for two seconds and actually try to get them. and half the time people just hate him because he is the complete opposite of the rap/hip-hop/pop rage right now.

i used to be a fan...i seen his concert in raleigh 2008...the forgot the lyrics of his own songs, then appologised for it and then played shitty solos...he has used his surfing career to get into music..and at most be mediocre at it...jack, you have disappointed me!!!you SUCK!!!

To those rookies, bashing Jack Johnson's music carreer: do you have any idea how tough this is for Jack to have to play hocky multiple times a week in the NHL, AND keep up a singing carreer?! Show a bit more respect for this guy!

I went to a Jack Johnson concert a few weeks ago because a girl asked me who knew I was in a band and thought I would enjoy it. I found the concert discouraging and I think anyone who knows music theory and plays an instrument seriously would as well. The man is the king of the four chord (bar chord) song. The girl told me how amazing Jack was and I told her I could teach her how to play one of his songs in five minutes. She told me to shut up and stop ruining the concert. I listened but only because I figured I might as well get some as a reward for going to that show.

Great, I'm not the only one who doesn't understand why this guy has a career. Few artists make me cringe as much as he does. He employs the same basic formula for most of his songs. Boring strumming, cheesy voice overdubs and annoying piano work really gets to me every time. So much that I'm actually finding myself spending time writing this....
