Is anyone as shocked as I am that this guy is still in the NHL? He was traded for nothing to the Ducks, says a lot to what his value is in the NHL. Nothing. Lets in another joke goal in his debut for the Ducks, should we be surprised anymore?

Finally traded- I could have told Toronto management that Bernier was not a #1 goalie 3 years ago- would have saved them a sh*tload of money...

Weird, Kessel, Clarkson, and Phaneuf were all not tradeable too.... He's tradeable, just not worth much.

Unfortunately Bernier has one year left on his over-priced contact. Because of this, he is not tradeable. But when he is, I hope mont tremblent picks him up so he can serve me fries in my ski trip.

Look at the idiot below this comment, since when does one of the greatest goaltenders take nearly a year to pick up a win? Even in the 80s, they wouldn't have took that shit for long... Even André "Red Light" Racicot has to be jealous they are paying this guy to suck so bad

Wouldn't surprise me that the Leafs sign Bernier to a contract extension for just 1 good month... only in Toronto this would happen.

They're trying to "showcase" Bernier before trade deadline, but what does his showcase display? A #2 Goalie being paid not only like a #1, but like a top #1. Who's going to wan/pay for that? Only in TO. Keep him on the bench from now on so his "skills" are not made so obvious and his trade value drops even lower than it is.

The leafs management want bernier to be the no#1 so bad. They just keep giving him chance after chance. He has had a couple of years worth of chances and has not shown anything. He has one good game and the press is ready to induct him into the hall of fame...wake the f*=ck up Toronto and make Reimer the number 1.

Reply-to:Babcock has to pull his head out of his ass and stop wasting his time with Bernier we need some wins and its not going to happen. There is not a lot of time left in the season, if we want to play to lose to get better draft picks then bernier is your man but I think the fans would rather see some wins so Riemer should be your number one.
Reimer is still off for injury. That's why Bernier's been playing. It was mainly Sparks at first, then Sparks got injured too, so we were stuck with Bernier. Fortunately, he seems to have somewhat pulled his head out of his ass long enough to stop a few goals. He actually looked great last night. Nothing like himself at all.

is anyone else sick and tired of listening to Greg Millen go on and on about his man crush Bernier?  OMG get a freaking room.  Millen sucked as a goaltender and makes and even worse commentator....guess that's why Millen loves him..two of a freaking kind....

JJ Bernier gives Babcock a good nob polish, it's too obvious.

Wow! There is some serious hate there. I am a Leafs fan that moved to the Ottawa area almost 15 years ago. I stayed a Leafs fan even through the Sens run to the cup. I have seen lots of crappy leafs teams over the decades but I have to say that the team we have now is fun to watch, has a chance to win almost every game and that is all on Babcock. If it was not for Bernier the leafs would be in a wildcard spot. This year is not about getting to the playoffs, this year is about playing hard, playing for each other, re-establishing pride in the blue and white and building momentum for next year. Bernier has lost this team. The team doesn't want to play for him and he sees it. Even when the leafs limit shots on him to 7 shots a period he still lets in 3, how can they have confidence in him? You will see it tonight against the pens. Reimer will let in 3 but he will have 35-40 shots against him, The Bernier boosters will say "Look! Look! Reimer sucks!" but they will fail to see that the leafs as a team have confidence in him and will give up perimeter shots and the defence will not be trying to do to much because they have CONFIDENCE that Reimer will battle and 93.6% of the time he will make the stop. The players don't even come by and give Bernier a tap on the pads after goal against anymore because they simply hate the guy. I am not ranting from on top of a soap box (well yes I am actually I am LOL) I am speaking from decades of experience playing goal. As a goalie you can tell when you have lost your team and trust me Bernier lost this team early last year, if he even had them at all since his arrival in Toronto.

I like Bibeau over Sparks, but Bibeau is still young and needs a lot of AHL games, so i will go with Sparks as Reimer' back up for now. I would send Bernier down to the Marlies to back up Bibeau, Bernier has no future here in hockey town, so let Bibeau who has a very bright future here, play as much as he can RIGHT NOW!

This guy is BAD! As for the rest of the team, i like what i see, but this guy is just killing any momentum, and you can see all the faces and attitude just drop every time this guy lets in an awful goal. Regardless of what you have to say, " we gotta keep battling and coming back, no quit! " but it gets pretty darn tiring having to dig yourself out of a hole every game with this guy. First off, he isn't a big guy, and does not cover a lot of net. Seems like the net is 6'x6', besides the big five hole, watch all the rest of the goals that go in, so much net left unprotected. Watch Reimer in net, hardly any net, shooters have nothing, watch the goals that Reimer lets in, then you'll see the difference. All this about the guys " confidence " is crap, just say it like it is, he stinks! Period. Waive him again, watch, nobody will bite! Call it a day, let him go help the Marlies, bring Sparks back up, he's earned it! JB has not, why do you think it's ok to miss the playoffs again? The season is still salvagable, if you take JB out of the equation, those possible 4 games he totally lost, on his own, would be 8 more pts and in the wild card right now! You are correct, this is a business, and we are in the business of winning, not trying to pamper this guy and build his confidence, $#%! him, he's a professional and he will understand, his play is totally unacceptable and there are concequences. Ship him out already! The fans deserve better!

Really Babcock? Why???. Bloody fans pay a lot of hard earned money for tickets, parking, beer and snacks, dinner, and for what? To watch this guy lose another game because of his lack of goaltending skills, or just maybe he isn't cut out to be in the NHL. Obviously if he was half decent, at least one team would have picked him up when you waived him, NO? You can't even give him away for free!!!! Now i don't need $8,000,000 to tell you, i'm going with a Reimer!

How is this cunt STILL in the NHL? How have the Leafs not realized he's hopeless? Give up on him, he only gets worse and worse! It's constantly weak goals and giveaways. This guys a waste of skin, never mind money.

Send him to Montreal as a Christmas gift and don't forget the bag of pucks. He obviously does not want to play for the Maple Leafs. He just screwed them over for money and contract. You have a nice day Mr. Bernier ?
