I THINK THAT MAX SHOULD GET OUT OF BUFFALO AND GET A FRESH START. HE NEEDS IT.

Maxim is an excellent player and if you ever took the time to notice you'd see he generally gets the puck and passes it to another Sabre who happens to miss it, by their mistakes it makes him look bad. And furthermore without Afinogenov the Sabres wouldn't have made it as far as they did last season when he played with Briere. I admit he hasn't done great this year, but he has the potential. He may be in the negatives but he puts a lot of effort into everything he does when he's on the ice unlike left winger Andrew Peters who does nothing but start a fight any and every time he is on the ice. Or keep a center like Tim Connolly who has over the last five seasons, missed 249 games out of a possible 368 regular season contests due to "injury". At least Maxim is getting out there and trying his hardest. When you average 30 seconds of ice time you can't do very much because lord know we need Mr. Hot Shot Vanek out there to score every goal. Trading Maxim somewhere else would be a foolish mistake, and one I hope Lindy Ruff doesn't make.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm tired of people talking so horrible about Afinogenov, especially when he doesn't deserve it.

So, regarding the first comment: haha you make me laugh whoever you are. Aside from the fact that he doesn't actually have mental retardation, he comes pretty close to it.

And you, whoever you are ranting about Max... well fyi, he is a puck hog. The other players don't miss his passes, his passes are so horrible that nobody can catch them!

Andrew Peters is what some people would call a "goon"... he's basically payed to fight, and if he scores some goals in there, then yay Petey!

Tim Conolly, yeah he has a lot of "injuries" but so does Max. Don't criticize players (like Conolly) for having injuries when they have actual skill (skill beyond rushing the puck and losing it like Max)

Thomas Vanek gets a lot of crap goals. He takes goals away from a lot of people and makes useless tip-ins. My favorite player is Toni Lydman and recently he scored a goal that was awarded to Vanek because he deflected it (quite unecessary if you ask me). But re-think what you are saying... have you ever considered how much skill it takes to hit all those flying pucks in mid-air? It's a little tougher than baseball, just so you know.

And one last thing. You sound really dumb when you say things like that trading Maxim would be a foolish mistake you hope Lindy Ruff doesn't make. Tune in, Einstein, Lindy Ruff doesn't make those calls. It's called Darcy Regier, ever heard of him? He decides who gets traded and who stays. And, players do have some say in whether they re-sign with the Sabres or not.
