Just because Kessel was picked for the All-Star Game and  Sid the Kid hasn't, Kessel declared himself a Jagr!!!

Last night Pens rookie Daniel Spring did something that Kessel probablyhasn’t Done in years: Spring scored two even strength goals. Kessel did get a cookie, however - a PP assist. Good job, pudge!

Philippine kessel is terrible he skates good one game then the next he's got no legs unless it's a power play, I think motivation and drive are lacking with phil, he's also holding malkin and kessel back from.thier potentials, don't think having kessel leading team in points sits well with crosby and malkin when they currently sit out of the playoffs ,

Phil Kessel is on pace to score...you guessed it...his usual career high of 37 goals. It's his destiny, his ceiling, his absolute upper limit. Why? Because he ONLY scores one way - from a 45 degree angle near the faceoff dot on his off wing on the PP, when he won't get hit or hurried. How can number "ate one" break through his perennial glass ceiling of 37 goals? Easy: 1. Use a stick that allows you to take one-timers, for more variety. You always stop the puck and allow the goalie to get set - imagine having more net to shoot at if you can learn to one-time it? 2. Go to the dirty areas and fight for steals and takeaways. Dude, you're built like a fire hydrant, yet you play as physically as a wallflower. 3. Go to the front of the net occasionally for some tip-ins. 4. Throw a hit more often than your once every 10 games average. Hits generate turnovers - and you KNOW how tasty turnovers are, raaaight?! 5. Play with a less whippy stick for better accuracy and fewer missed nets. Your super low shooting percentage will improve dramatically. In short, just stop being a one trick pony. At $7 million a season, you need to have WAY more tools in your kit. It's not JUS|T about getting cupcake points. It's about being respected for being a complete player, which you currently are not.

If Kessel was a football player, he'd be a field goal kicker, so he could lead the team in scoring while avoiding physical contact. He also wouldn't need to be in top physical conditioning for that job. He wouldn't understand why he wouldn't get the same respect or pay grade as a quarterback, running back or wide receiver. He would love the fact that field goal kickers rarely get interviewed by the sports media, so there's that, at least.

Reply-to:My favourite part of this is when some of the deluded morons on here think Phil actually reads this. Like seriously you a guy making 8 million cares what any of you think? I certainly wouldnt if I were in his shoes.

Right, you mean like the way Trump doesn't care about what people say about him, because he's a billionaire? Fragile egos have NOTHING to do with wealth, in case you hadn't noticed.

I’m EXTREMELY jealous of Kessel. I mean, who WOULDN’T want to look like a bald, pudgy 50 year old long haul truck driver with the vocabulary of a 12 year old. He’s a power play suck who refuses to pay the price required to score 50 goals - by going to the dirty areas of the ice and grinding out dirty goals at even strength - tip ins and banging in rebounds. He might even score 60 if he learned to take slap shots and one timers. Sad that he is content to be just a one trick pony. Such underachieving wasted potential.

Phil Kessel, number "Ate One", ranks 387th in the NHL for shooting percentage, at 5.9%. That means he takes about 20 shots ON goal for every goal he scores. VERY inefficient indeed. PLUS, he misses the net about 1/3 of the time, meaning he takes about 30 shots attempts per goal scored. Because he always shoots from an angle, his missed shots create breakouts the other way. And he STILL hasn't registered a hit this season, even though he's built like a fire hydrant at 5' 10" and 235 lbs. And yeah, I know he has 2 cup rings. But the Pens won those cups in spite of Kessel, NOT because of him.
