dude, dipetro sucks because he cant even play good, he gets lots of injuries, and he lets in so many goals
why did the islanders even pick him as a first pick?

A goalie can't bring down an entire hockey club. If the players were pulling their weight.....

DP - Sorry to say but it is time to hang up the skates.  Injuries have taken their toll on your performance.  It is not fair to have your contract bring down this once proud franchise as you try to return to a form which is physically not possible. Pls negoitate a buyout and RETIRE.

I don't understand why Rick would even think to embarrass anymore then he does every game he plays I think he deserved what he got and hopefully as a islander fan this is a wake up call for him , I wouldn't be expecting anything though

Dipietro is terrible I've had it with this organization. They do absolutely nothing to improve. Everything from scouts to coaching to ownership. Awful. Ryan omarra over zach parise? Niño nedieretter over cam fowler and Jeff skinner? Are u kidding me??? I've had enough not to mention the clown that's playing in net.

Not Only does Dipietro suck, so does charles Wang (the islanders owner.) He has absolutely no idea what he's doing. I mean, they traded Luongo. He is an olympic level goalie! They also don't have any star players. Maybe Tavares but he's not terrific. Look at the successful teams, the penguins have Crosby, Capitals have Ovechkin, Blackhawks have Teows, Kane and Sharp, Lighting have stamkos i mean the islanders need a star to inspire them. They also need a far better goalie. As a thrasher and Tavares were facing off, the trashers scored right off the face off, literally. The other night he came out nearly to the blue line, could not knock the puck away and was scored on. And 15 years?!?!? What crazed idiot would sign a player like Dipietro for 15 years. He is clearly not doing what he is supposed to so why dont they try bringing in another goalie? They also need a real coach. They fired their old coach and what does he do? He takes the flyers to the STANLEY CUP last year. Something needs to be done about the islanders, wether its Dipietro or charles wang, something needs to be done!

Long Suffering Islander Fan:  DiPietro is a joke, always has been, always will be.  He is too concerned about "handling" the puck than he is about stopping goals from getting by him.  When they do, he blames the guys in front of him.  I agree with another poster:  I hope he gets injured again.  He is hurting this team more than he is helping this team.

He lost to my Flyers tonight.  But we must give him props for wearing the pink equipment.  Anything for cancer awareness.  Thumbs up.

dipietro just let up 6 goals so far at the end of  2 periods.   god this guy sucks.  why is this guy still playing??  i dont want to hear injury excuses, or no defense excuses.  this guy is terrible

its probally wrong to say, but its better off he gets hurt again so rolosson can start.  rolosson should be starting anyway.  Hands down the better goalie.

Milbury drafted this loser.  What else is there to say.  If roloson started tonights game isles would have won.  Dipietro wasted a taveres hat trick.  really  cant stand dipietro.  he rather skate behind the net and play the puck rather then stop pucks in net.  He is shaky in net and gives up to many rebounds.

just saw him complacently shovel the puck to a 'cane forward who promptly slid it past him...HELP US DWAYNE.  All I could think of is we have 10 more years of this player to deal with...he was good (not 1st overall good) but hes such a liability!!
