With Price, the raw talent is there. He just needs some confidence back, and consistency. But he has all the tools.When he's on, he can kill a 5-on-3 by himself. His lateral movement is good too, and he can make better break-out passes than most of the slow d-men on his own team. He plays his best when he's borderline cocky. He knows how good he can be. Once he finds his confidence back like he did back in November of this season, he'll be great again. |

Another advantage Price has over Halak: Price is pretty damn good at stopping breakaways and odd-man rushes. Just check out his NHL Highlights video from this season. The ones in the last Washington game were amazing.Halak is terrible at stopping breakaways/odd-man rushes, he's usually freezes, he's deep in his net and doesn't even bother to try and pokecheck. Instead, he just flops around and/or is deked easily and his smaller legs make it harder for him to make pad saves across. Price has stopped ALEX OVECHKIN on 2 breakaways in the same game. Pretty impressive stuff. |

Halak look mediocre against Pittsburgh (good team) and against Boston yesterday. We actually out-shot Boston but Rask outplayed him by a mile. Halak let in some weak goals too during both games. If Carey had let those in, we'd never hear the end of it!! Halak also has terrible puck-handling and gives the puck away a lot. There is a DOUBLE STANDARD. Why? Because Price's abilities and skill set are much better so even when Halak has bad goals (see games against Buffalo, New York, Pittsburgh, Florida, etc), ppl forget about Halak's bad games because he's the underdog and still seen as the "back up" goalie.BTW, Halak is a smaller goalie having a career season similar to Tim Thomas. Thomas was the underdog, just like Halak. But guess what? Thomas is now the back-up to the younger, bigger and more technical goalie in Rask. Sound familiar to Price? For all you Price Haters: be careful what you wish for. If Price gets traded, I guarantee the franchise will regret it. He has all the physical tools and size advantage...he just needs consistency and SOME GOD DAMN PATIENCE FROM THE FANS. Price's save % is 3rd among Canadian starting NHL goalies, right after Luongo and Brodeur. It's higher than MA Fleury's for god's sake! |

Spotted: Carey at Lola's, getting a facial and nice little highlites in his hair. His agent advised him that with his mask off all the time while he warms the bench, that the TV cameras get in really close. He just hired a new 'smiling ' coach too. Lucky ladies !!
