Hossa is the Fran Tarkenton of hockey. Great in the regular season and a bust in the playoffs. He also lacks leadership skills which is significant in any "super star". Blackhawk fans will soon feel the disappointment that Ottawa, Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Detroit have felt. There is, however, the possibility that Kane and Toews can mentor him.

Detroit fans are gonna say the refs favored the Pens.  and Pens fans are gonna say the refs favored the Wings.  its not even worth discussing.  the fact is that the Pens won.  and while everyone knows that NHL refs are the biggest joke of any sport on the plantet, they do not score goals, and they do not make saves.  so the Wings have two choice...1)  be gracious losers and happy with the 11 Stanley Cups that you already have (and im sure there will be more) or 2)  make yourselves sound like sore losers.  which is it gonna be?

Regarding the refs in the finals, I know they favored Detroit  for the most part. The Pens worked very hard to win @ Joe Louis arena. That is why winning the Cup in Detroit makes this victory so much sweeter! ROCK ON PENS!!!

Oh yeah and it's funny that Crosby did get hurt when it was his own fault.  Listen to the announcers they thought he should have gotten a penalty for that "move."

Everyone wants him hurt so he can actually have something to complain about...not just crying about nothing like he usually does.

Really? Seriously detroit has no class what so ever! To say something that ignorant! For the fans to cheer that Crosby was hurt was rude, but to boo the pens for winning the cup is just down right disrespectful. When the wings won on mellon arena ice no one booed. All us fans stood there clapped for our guys and watched the ceremony and clapped for the wings at the end. All I can say is WOW what a bunch of low lives. Completely rude ingornant douchebags.

Are you completely retarded?  Please youtube the ceremony last year.  The penguins fans did in fact boo.  I am so sick of hearing that "Detroit is so low class they booed us" blah blah blah...UM I know most of you BANDWAGON pens fans just became hockey fans this year, but EVERY FAN (Ducks, tampa, etc) boos--they're booing at Bettman.  In case you don't know who Bettman is--he's the commissioner of the NHL aka Crosby's boyfriend.

QUIT TALKING SHIT ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT.

Oh yeah and Hossa still rocks. kk!

the NHL refs are the worst of any sport in the world.  they are a joke.  everyone knows that.  but blaming a win/loss on the refs is extremely lame.  it just makes you seem like a sore loser.  refs dont score goals, and refs dont make saves.  yes, they can TRY to make it so that one particular team has more of a chance to win than the other.  but a truly great team will overcome that by scoring the goals and making the saves.

Both teams did fantastic.  Otherwise they would not be where they were.  Bt there can only be one winner.  This year it was the pens.

but (forgot to say this) i definitely don't think you can blame the refs for the pens winning... just saying they were awful in general.

the only thing i was really upset about was the Malkin non-suspension. and i was just upset because the NHL needs to be fair to all players. who was it, brashear? on the caps got suspended for like 6 games for something similar... the have to be consistent no matter who is involved. otherwise the sport becomes a joke.

also i thought the officiating was poor throughout the entire playoffs, i'm saying laughably bad. for all teams. like whatever system they have for choosing refs in the post-season isn't working...time to find some new guys.

As a Pens fan, i agree, you should not hate Hossa for making a decision that he thought was the right one. The Wings are a great team. Hossa is a great star in this sport.. he did make a name as one of the highest scoring this season... correct me if im wrong, had the most goals on the team.

Pittsburgh defied all odds this year after the coaching change... Babcock coached Bylsma in Anaheim.. so I think i can safely thank Babcock for everything he taught Bylsma, which led the Pens to the cup. dont blame the officiating, it was blind for both teams. if any of you even watched the game and payed attention the announcers were calling penalties that the refs were missing. thats what happens when you get this far into the finals, its the same every year, nobody favors anyone.

Detroit was the better, more experienced team last year. The Pens proved they earned their way to be titled the best team this year.. the wrong team did not win the cup, the team that won the cup proved they still had fight from the one of the biggest comebacks in NHL history.

im not directing this at those of you who know the game, but those who dont, QUIT WHINING AND BLAMING EVERYBODY ELSE, learn some hockey and just enjoy it!

wow maddie, you are seriously a jerk, the Red Wings had a better season and the referees made no calls against the Penguins, like holding a player for 5 minutes

i agree. i thought there was a lot of hate/bitterness this year, much more so than normal. it wasn't enjoyable as a fan. and its not enjoyable now because pens fans are not gracious winners from what i've seen.  like you, i'm a hockey fan in general and i have my teams, but i've never seen such negativity coming from the winning side. its a little disheartening...

Seriously, it is frustrating.  I love the stanley cup finals even when my team is not in it and at the beginning of this one I was just hoping for a good competitive series, considering I had no rooting interest.  And I guess it was, since it went to 7 games, but it felt so one sided with the wings clearly being the more skilled team, and then the Pens won.  It was just not exciting to me.

Now instead of being happy for the pens, all I hear is their fans bitching about hossa and other random crap which just makes the whole thing not enjoyable for hockey fans in general.

to be honest, the thing that bothers me most about the pens winning is that they weren't consistent all year. like all of the teams that had really great overall seasons ended up having no gas left in the tank... (caps, bruins, wings, ducks).

its like the season is so long that you get punished for doing well all year... maybe teams should suck on purpose for a few months and then start playing in february...

its just kind of frustrating

As a hockey fan in general, not a wings fan or a pens fan, I have to say that the pens are not the "better" team, this is just my opinion from what I saw from all 7 games.  The pens may have won the series, but this just proves that the "better" team doesn't always win.

As a Red Wings fan, do you really think I would be accusing them of throwing the game? You're the stupid one to actually take 'riggin' the game' serious.

But they might as well have, how do you lose with a 2 game advantage, 5:0 game, how the heck do you do that?

And as far as your precious 'kid' goes, what was he fingering Zetterberg for, couldn't wait til' he got home? Or is it that he can't handle Zetterberg's cause he doesn't have any, balls? Castration to pacify his desperation. This dude is sick, man. And so was NBC for showing it repeatedly.

I am glad for Lemieux, cause Stanley means extra bonuses, and that club can use all the extra income, but this Penguins team comes across as a bunch of hoods, the wrong team won.
