Playing professional sports is like any job & is never over. Which means all of you should never ever ever leave your job. Work that job until the day you die.

Would you like the pilot flying your plane to decide to quit in the middle of their flight bc they didn’t feel like it made them happy anymore? Or your hair dresser cutting half your hair and walking out? Or your lawyer deciding not to show up for the trial they are representing you for simply bc they just didn’t want to do law anymore? All those people in those scenarios are screwed others over. Some more extreme than others - but really crappy decisions made that effects others around them simply bc you’re just not feelin it anymore.... just a thought. It’s good to know that you support the people quitting in the middle of those things tho. By all means do what makes you happy no matter the ramifications others will be forced to deal with in your absence. Just so long as you’re good and in a happy place.

If my job was playing a professional sport that I signed a contract for knowing where I was going to and my “mental health” issues were I didn’t like the location - yeah I’d somehow suck it up and make it through the season. It’s not like he was being sexually harassed or manipulated or overworked. No one tried to convert him to a different religion or a cult. They didn’t water board him or give him shitty shift hours or anything maniacal like that. So yes, I think most everyone here would realize they needed to stick it out for the rest of the season at least. He’s a grown man not a snowflake. You don’t just get to quit things when they don’t go your way. I’ve worked with coworkers that made my life hell and my work miserable but I’m an adult so I didn’t quit my job even tho I didn’t like how they made me feel.
