This is the smartest thing I have read yet!!! Support Vinny as a Player and Respect his Game

You don’t try to remake Vinny into a grinder when he just can’t do that on a consistent basis. He has his moments, sure, but that’s not his game. You’d be turning an overall team asset into a disastrous on-ice liability. And that will cause his game to spiral into a morass of inconsistency topped with a severe lack of confidence. In which more criticism and more punishment will be called for, spiraling the entire situation out of control until he asks to be moved to another team.

A smart coach works with the natural abilities of his players, not trying to force them to wholly play a style that they aren’t physically or mentally able to. If you want the guy to score, let him play his game within the framework of the overall team style – don’t try to change him completely into something he's just not. Otherwise, you might as well start thinking about where you'd like to trade him.

yeah he is now, but before malone and stammer got here, vinny and marty carried the team, along with richards. now we dont have to rely on just those 2 for our offense. instead offense is coming from all sides. i think that shoulder injury he had has derailed his game a bit. hopefully he gets it back, but since the surgery, he hasnt played like the old vinny ---Raul

IF Vinny were to be traded, he would have to agree to it. There is no loopholes in his contract, he can't even be sent down to minors without agreeing on it. Tocchet made it clear a few weeks back to ANY player that wasn't playing to their potential would have their ice time reduced. Vinny wasn't so he lost ice time. And since then he is playing better. I read that article too (its in the RUMOR section) and the one that started that rumor a few weeks back is known for his half a** guesses on whats going on in the league. OH and Vinny signed his contract in the summer of '08. It was the NMC that clicked in on July 1st. You may want to pay more attention to the facts when stalking Vinny.

But the reason he's playing so badly is because Rick Tocchet is reducing his ice time and sending him out with the fourth line.

Actually the reason he was on the THIRD line was because he wasn't finishing checks and cutting shifts early. It's clearly spelled out by Tocchet in numerous newspaper articles. Vinny is back on the first line as of the Montreal game because he was checking and playing better. Tocchet cut his ice time down because that's the only thing he can do to players. All of this can be read in articles and seen in interviews with coach Tocchet.

There is more trade talk about Vinny! On the Hockey News, it's rumored that if he doesn't start improving that he could be traded. Apparently there are loopholes in that monster of a contract he signed on July 1 this summer. But the reason he's playing so badly is because Rick Tocchet is reducing his ice time and sending him out with the fourth line. Personally, I think it'd be wonderful for him to be traded. They didn't mention any possible destinations but I think Edmonton, Columbus or Montreal would be fantastic. The only obstacle in a trade is any team who signs him would have to sign for a significant period of time and that's not cheap at all, he's at least $7.7 million a year.

Open practices are really low key. They have to walk past you to go to the locker room. So they always stop and talk and sign stuff. If the practices aren't open you can always wait by the players lot after the game.

Does Vinny stop after open practices to sign?  My parents, sister, and I might be heading down to Tampa around New Year's for a football bowl game, and since we're from Pittsburgh, we would go to the game on Jan 2nd against the Pens.  I might be able to convince them to let me spend a morning at a practice if we could meet Vinny or St. Louis.  My dad's a huge St. Louis fan.  Any help would be appreciated!

Ok so I jumped the gun and bought tickets in the 102 section, row k- good? They weren't too expensive as I am used to Leafs prices. That's too bad the practices are closed! Do you know where to get autographs from players? thanks so much!!

There are pretty much no bad seats. All practices at the forum are closed. And awy teams usually stay in one of the hotels near the forum or the one on harbour island.

Hey girls! I am going to be in Florida for the Jan 2 game when it is TB vs Penguins. I have been looking at tickets and they seem pretty cheap- any advice on where to or where not to sit? Also, anyone know where I could go for autographs from the visiting team and/or the home team? Also, does the visiting team have open practices? If they do, where are they held? Sorry for all these questions! I appreciate any answers anyone has!! Thanks!!!

Will Vinny have any spare time to see his family while he's in Montreal for the game?

Saw Vinny at Westshore mall tonight with a short dark haired woman. He's sexy.

He has a sister with dark hair who is shorter. She's really pretty and sweet

Congratulations to Vinny on his second goal. It was a good game and I'm glad the Lightning won. They showed him meeting a fan before the game and he really is very handsome. I hope he makes Team Canada.
