Here is how the Russian names are derived: For Alexander Mikhalyovich Ovechkin, Alexander is his given name, Mikhaylovich is his patronymic name and Ovechkin is his surname or 'family' name. Mikhaylovich is derived from his father's name (Mikhayl) and -ovich which is a suffix meaning "son of". It is the same for girls. Their patronymic name is their father's name and the suffix -ovna meaning "daughter of". Sasha is the diminutive form of Alexandr and Misha is the diminutive form of Mikhayl. It is typically a shortened version of the name or a nickname, much like we use Bill for William or Danny for Daniel. And just for fun - Ovechkin translates to "little lamb" or "little sheep". |

Ovi's tattoos are "one family" on the left and "life" on the right. I agree, he is an amazing athlete and his passion and respect for the game is inspirational. His parents did a wonderful job instilling such qualities in him, not only as a professional athlete but as a human being. He strives to be the best person he can be with everything he does. |

Hey HL!!!!! Yesterday was an amazing sports day in general. Ovie was just beyond amazing!! Those tongue shots were insane!!!! I am very happy the Saints won! NOLA deserves something good to happen to them and Drew Brees is a class act, not to mention very handsome! I wish I was at Bourbon St. celebrating! Any girl is lucky to be with Ovie, no matter who she is! He must be hella fun to be with and an awesome date! Talk about lucky! |

Whoa awesome game yesterday!! When I last posted . Caps were losing!! So cool how it turned around!!! Such a nice treat for me, being I never get to see Ovie play!!! God he's even hotter on TV than in pics. He looks younger on TV too!! Those eyes are amazing and his pretty lips too!! <3 And his fierce determination!! I'm mad at you girls though. I stumbled on it just by putting the TV on while I was having coffee and switching channes. It was already about 20 min in the game. You girls are supposed to tell me when Ovie (The Capitals) play on Natl. TV ot Versus. Remember??? LOL Anyway it worked out cause by fate I came upon it. And than my Colts lost which s*cks!!! So at least the Lord let me see Ovie and the Caps win!!! :D Notice my new picture??? Dirky and Kevin Love just spotted Godzilla!! LOL Doesn't it look like that???? LOL |

She may just be a friend of the family because she hasn't been with just Ovi. She's been hanging out with Ovi's brother, and Semin, and a bunch of the guys from back home. She speaks fluent Russian so maybe she's someone they grew up with. There haven't been any public displays of affection between her and Ovi either. No hand-holding, no kisses, no nothing. Not even at the clubs or at Casino night.

OK guys....here's the scoop. Ovi only has one chance at fixing the tooth because of the amount of bone left in the upper jaw. He wears a spacer at night to keep the rest of the teeth aligned so he can have the permanent replacement implanted when he's done playing hockey. Regarding the blonde...she was at the Pittsburgh game today. She sat with Ovi's brother and friend during the game and was outside with the family after the game. And no, that is not the same brunette he had dinner with at Mari Vanna in NY. |

That pic was taken Oct or Nov of 2008, back when Ovie was visting his sick grandpa back in Moscow. He went to a a hockey game while over there - remmeber, the fans set off a stink bomb or something - and I guess this girl came with him. He's always got women around him. But that blonde/older looking woman from the CSN Comcast spot seemed to be hanging around with him for a while. Any more details???

Happy Funday all, wooohooo Hat Trick!! by far the best game yet of the season....well almost...we're only 1/2 way thru. this has been the best weekend EVER! Can i just say....love being snowed in........and cookin food for the people w/ no power!! :))))))) hockey on either end doesn't suck too!! got home just in time today to...uh huh...hitchhike to the game!! haven't done that before.... but thank god for the lovely people of arlington! easiest ride evr ;)))))) yeahhhhh Caps...sun is about to set, gotta get ready to head back to the city!! woooohoooo maybe the next storm will be just as grand!!! I was at Kettler the day the olympic pictures were taken. I was at ice level watching Green and Varly finish practice while my husband and my son were wondering around the building. They found their way to where the photo shoot was and got to see Semin having his done. My husband doesn't know who any of the caps are other than Ovie, so he didn't bother to tell me about it until last night. On books and mags ya know how they show the price of how much it costs in Canada and it's always higher!!! I am looking at my Michael Phelps book now and it is $18.95 in the US and $22.95 inCanada!! The only magazines I spend a lot of money on that my hotties are in are usually the " collectors" ones or Ovie looking extremely fine. I heard the one from Fur (the one from the pics, not the one he was "kissing"/Casino night was a friend visiting from Russia, she has supposedly gone back to Russia. Why wouldnt he date an American girl? Not every American girl fit the slovenly, overweight sterotype that Varly was talking about....lol He might just prefer Russians because he can relate to her a little bit better because they share the same customs and ideas. |
