Well I was talking more about boards that like to sit there and insult any female pictured with their desired male. Heaven forbid some chick actually call me by their rude nickname when they spot me out in public... I'd probably reply something like "b*tch, I will f*cking eat you." Yeah, they're certainly struggling, but they started out horrible last year as well, and made it to the semifinals. Then again, Ward wasn't looking too hot before he got hurt, so maybe a rest will let him refocus a little bit. They definitely need another goalie, though... I don't think Leighton is solid enough to carry the team that long. -RK |

players have been seriously been hurt before.. by stick/pucks to their eyes.. and I honestly think suing is a non issue. because it is player choice and they know the risk. so if they do get hurt.. its horrible.. but it's certainly not the NHL's fault. it's just circumstance of the game.. anything can happen at any time. - Ana : ) |

Well, I think it should be up to the players, seeing as it's their health/body/whatever at risk. But from a business standpoint and trying not to get sued... the NHL might see it as a good thing to require visors. lol Kind of like the "you have to wear your seat belt" law... I find that really dumb. If I choose to not wear a seat belt, it's not hurting anyone else. Even though I do wear one... why make it illegal to risk your life? -RK |

I'm really surprised they don't make visors mandatory... just seems like a huge liability to not wear them. But the "tough" guys wouldn't be caught dead with a visor. Typical men. I do think a visor would slightly diminish Pronger's sex appeal, though... =] -RK |

Also on a side note, my bf went home to DC and was at the game. He said he saw Brooksy talking to Sasha
during the third period and giving him like a pat on the back :) I thought that was really great. Definitely shows he has some good leadership potential and that he can see when a guy needs some encouragement (if Sasha is indeed down). -imogen |

Well... I'm not sure what I hope for... If he's nervous, maybe he'll work a bit harder, and try to perform up to his potential. But then again, maybe it would make him try too hard, to the point where he screws up everything he tries to do. It's difficult to say. Yeah I caught myself wishing he'd gotten in on the goal-fest tonight. He picked it up near the end though. Still, he should have had something. Did you see Bruce's post-game? He said he thought maybe Sasha was lonely without having Ovie to talk to on the bench. (Awwww...) Assuming he wasn't being sarcastic (he seemed sincere enough), his remark struck me as rather odd-maybe the other guys are giving Sasha the cold shoulder? Hope you have a great time at the wedding, Ana! I think Semin's hair is kind of like mine but dark blond ... I'm light brown but it looks different colours depending on the light - blonde in the summer, darker in the winter and sometimes I look like a redhead. Rest up, Ellie. I don't recall the infectious period for mono, but I think you can potentially spread the virus for 1 yr after infection. Can't be a hermit forever, just be careful once your symptoms dissipate (usually about 1 month). It spreads through saliva, so don't share lipstick or water bottles. Lee |

Yeah....i think they're just thinking of the beginning of last year when Ovie was in Russia and Semin was an absolute beast (being a winner becomes that boy lol seeing him panting after coming off a great shift and sitting on the bench looking up at a replay of some badass goal...yum). GMGM isn't my favorite... he kind of waits too long for stuff to happen, and then the caps miss out. like how we didn't actively pursue a defenseman, and we let Feds and Kozy leave without much effort...then we get 2 more offensive guys, and no new defensemen. -Ellie :) |

I'm sure things will sort themselves out. NJ is a vacuum for energy. Not the best first game for Ovie to miss. But it was only one game. And for his 3 penalities only one goal was scored. I think people just expected him to come out and be Ovie for the night, but that's not who he is. Lee |

Yeah exactly. I really hope they pull it together though. I think Bruce is smart enough to find a way around the difficulties he's having. I don't have much patience for GMGM but they know they now have a massive fanbase that will mutiny (at least tthe new ones) if the caps start to slide because of management decisions. Even the older fans are d*cks on that board though. They use their years of suffering during the pre-Ovi era to justify their impatience and blind rage whenever the Caps don't measure up to their expectations. My bf grew up with the Caps and sometimes does the same thing lol-we have some interesting debates after games. I rag on Schultz sometimes but yeah complaining as much as they do is useless. Who knows if it's BB not being as effective or the players themselves? Just enjoy the game and don't get so angry about it lol. -imogen |

Yeah holy crap the caps boards are like..unreadable for anyone who doesn't have rage issues. I actually stopped following them awhile ago. I used to enjoy the discussions and joined in once in awhile but it's just a bunch of guys for the most part yammering on about how 'soft' European (in particular the Russian) players are and how bad Semin is and how he's getting traded at the deadline.
