Heatley doesn't have any class. Ottawa keeps getting screwed over by these pre-madonna's. Yashin, Emery and just recently Heatley. Players who put themselves over the team are just plain ignorant and essentially HAVE NO CLASS!

Dany Heatley is not going out with Danielle Ewan anymore. Dany "Icey-Hot" Heatley is sooooo sexy. His legs are strong, his face is beautiful and his hair is kinky. He's built like a machine like Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Governator. And is it ME or is it getting Dany Heatley in here??? LOL!

There's about 600-700 other players in the league that could do it.  Clearly Heatley folds under pressure.

Oh and careful on the roads...

Speak poorly of Heatley, but are any of you pro hockey players??? I think not. Do you realize how players are treated so bad by some teams?? Probably not. He probably had a perfectly good and private reason to be traded. Ottawa is a perfectly good team as well. None of you could play pro hockey, so stop pretending like you know what's up.

I think his personal issues according to the citizen could have been team members he didn't see eye to eye with because he wanted to be (the man) of the team. When he got a coach who wouldn't let him dictate how he wanted the team to look and play he wanted out. Have a feeling he was the problem in the locker room last year that got every body in a slump with his attitude. No body will own up to it but read between the lines in the Citizen article today.

First of all I would like to say it was about time Heatley found a new home.  I think it will benefit both him and us "The Senators".  On another note, please learn how to spell correctly without doing the double, tripple letters at the end of the words, it's not cool.  And this is not a bash your neighbour site.  Everyone should have love and peace in their lives, not hate.

I used to be a Heatley fan, but shit, I totally lost it for the guy.  I can't believe he'd do his own team like that, a team that took him in after everything he'd been through.  We didn't judge in Ottawa, now look how he repays us?  What the hell!?...I think he is whining himself straight out of the NHL and out of a career.

The guy screwed his team into a shit deal, if he was unhappy with his "diminished role" he should of played better. The guys a selfish prick and should feel lucky he's not in jail...Some of these guys are such over payed princesses. I hope in the next few years the teams that are stuggling have to fold and leaves a huge number of players with out jobs and scrambling. I bet you wouldn't see as many guys acting like spoiled 16 yr old girls throwing tantrums.....Just my opinion.

You know what, its people like you who reinforces stereotypes and make a bad name for everyone whos different from you. Canadians are really not much different from Americans. We have pretty much the same things besides the legal and political systems. I'm an American and i never felt that Canadians are different from us. That really pissed me off what you said about Americans, even if you were joking around. WE'RE NOT MUCH DIFFERENT THEN YOU ARE! So have some respect for people and yourselves, because clearly thats what your lacking.

Btw, a Sabres fan should not be trying to brag about their team.  No one wants to go to Buffalo its the other armpit of America - sorry to say but its true.  And if it weren't for southern Ontario fans up until the early 2000s than Buffalo would not have an NHL team.  Not to mention the GM and coach staff has just gotten rid of all their best players for nothing.  So before you go running your mouth, I'd look at your own team first.

I wouldn't say they have gotten rid of all their best players.  Drury and Briere yes, who else?  Campbell?  Nobody in Buffalo wants him on that ludicrous contract.  But we have kept Vanek, Miller, Pominville, Roy, Connolly and Gaustad.  All of whom could have left via UFA or an offer sheet via RFA, yet they chose to stay in Buffalo.  And the Sabres also matched an insane offer sheet to keep their best goal scorer, Vanek, in town.  Not really what I would consider letting all their best players leave...

The olympics and the world teams of Canada put Heatley on an ego trip by telling him constantly how good he was and their number one scorer. He rode that ride for a few years and got by with it in Ottawa until Corey came along and he could not dictate his wants and needs and get by with it. He was no longer the King of the hill so he wants out so he can get the status back. If it wasn't for his team mates who made him look good he would never have gotten there. Hockey is a team sport and he has forgotten that it takes a lot of guys to make a team # 1 not just scoring from one player.

The Ottawa Citizen had an article by Ken Warren in the Sunday edition. He had called Mike Fisher for reaction to Heatley's conference call on Friday.
Mike Fisher clearly has more room for forgiveness than many Ottawa Senators fans.
While there's apparently no end to fan vitriol against Dany Heatley -- one writer to ottawacitizen.com labelled Heatley as "self-centred, selfish, thin-skinned, arrogant and egotistical" and many others want him traded away for nothing more than a bag of pucks -- Fisher insists it's possible for Heatley to build bridges and return to the National Hockey League club's lineup.
"It's up to him to explain the situation, but for us, as players, everything is about being a good teammate, helping the team win," Fisher said Saturday.
Fisher, however, is "disappointed, very disappointed," at just about everything Heatley has chosen to do and say this summer. That included Friday's conference call, where Heatley explained that he asked for a trade away from the Senators because he believes his role within the team has diminished. Heatley said he no longer feels he's an integral part of the team, despite being named an alternate captain last season, averaging more than 20 minutes per game and playing primarily with first-line centre Jason Spezza.
"A coach can't please everyone, but everyone has to chip in," said Fisher. "I mean, a lot of guys had an off year last year, and I was one of them."
Indeed, Fisher took his lumps last season, criticized for scoring only 13 goals and 19 assists as a $6-million US man after topping the 20-goal mark in his three previous seasons.
Fisher clearly understands the fans' frustrations with his play and recognizes that he has to do more to earn additional ice time from his coach. Even when he's not scoring or setting up plays, he consistently backchecks and tries to slow down opponents by hitting them. He'll fight, if necessary.
He also says dealing with slumps and adversity is part of being a professional athlete.
"We're all proud, for sure," he said. "We all want to play as much as we can, but we all go through situations that are a challenge. Last year was my most challenging year, as well. If (Heatley) is with us, he's got to show up and play hard. If he does that, everybody will forget about it and he will do what he normally does and we will win . . . winning is the bottom line."
