To all those who say he brought us a cup. Go back to the tapes against detroit. You will see Sykora, twice and crosby once, saving a goal by diving behind Fleury to pussh the puck out before it enters the net after Fleury totally screwed-up.  How come they knew to be there? Because they know him.  There would have been no cup without Sykora. period

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 24 Apr 2012 18:09:07 GMT
no way the Pens ever win another cup with that pussy between the pipes...he's inconsistent as hell, and his inconsistency crushes the team's spirit...that's why they laid 10 goals on philly last wednesday, so fleury couldn't give it away...that was the TEAM speaking, and fleury heard and responded...for one game...he's gotta go!!!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 24 Apr 2012 00:30:07 GMT
don't you just love those "poopie-diaper" goals he always $hits out during the playoffs? He reaches around to check his pants more times than a tweener-toddler.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 24 Apr 2012 00:24:49 GMT
dude, i am laughing so hard! But I think the pens may be pushing it if they demand the cream-filled ones!

Reply-to:Fleury does it again! Hes more disappointing than the hot chick I had last night that smelled like rotten tuna down in her private garden of love! They need to dump him and gwt a goalie that doesnt constantly throw uo below avg statistics and is continuously putting his team behind in the playoffs! Trade him now...while you can still get at least a box of donuts for him!

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Mon, 23 Apr 2012 16:19:15 GMT
A non-Pens fan coming in peace here to say - for what is it worth - that I have enormous respect for Fleury.  Something was very off this first round.  He was fantastic in the regular season.  Don't put this first-round exit wholly on him.  He is very, very, very good - and deserves a better defensive group in front of him.  I also think he will get it in this off-season.  Pens are committed to being the best in the NHL and there will most likely be upgrades coming.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Mon, 23 Apr 2012 16:16:34 GMT
He is THE BIGGEST OVERRATED GOALIE NHL HAS EVER SEEN! Game 6 against flyer, The third goal he allowed was just atrocious! SOB just stood there like a statue. I am ashamed to say I bought a Fleury Jersey.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Mon, 23 Apr 2012 16:08:12 GMT

That is really sad story if it happened. :( Hopefully, he and his gf are still together.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Mon, 23 Apr 2012 10:21:05 GMT
How many years do we have to put up with him?  Every playoff game I hold my breath to see which goalie will show up.  Will it be the one that makes great saves, or, as is more often, the goalie that puts the puck into his own net.  Why do we always have to wait for that god-awful moment when "the Flower" (more like ragweed) decides to have a brian-lock and give up a marshmallow goal? He has no mental toughness at all.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Mon, 23 Apr 2012 00:49:37 GMT
Fleury sucks.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sun, 22 Apr 2012 22:22:56 GMT
PLEEEEEZE trade Fleury, pay someone to take him. Penns have the best player in the NHL (Sid) and some great offensive players to magnify his talents, but have the worst goalie. I think Fleury is a nice guy, but Pleeeeeeze get him out of the net, he has no business being there. Penguins will never see another cup unless they have somebody that can stop the puck consonantly.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sun, 22 Apr 2012 22:00:11 GMT

Statistics DO matter:  Fleury is 27th in save percentage.  What does that mean?  Twenty-six goalies are more successful at preventing goals.  Full time goalies face approximately 2,000 shots per year.  To suggest that the 2,000 shots Fleury faced are somehow qualitatively different than the other 30-35 full-time goalies is untenable.  By this measure, Fleury is simply a below average goalie.  It's unrealistic to blame Fleury's below-average performance on defense.  That would suggest that the Penguins defense is better than only 3 or 4 teams in the league.

But he "earned" 42 wins this year, and he has a cup!  Not so fast.  The "team" earned 42 wins.  The "team" earned a cup.  Fleury, on the other hand, is responsible for stopping shot on net, which he has failed to do.

Consider the 42 wins a virtue of the Penguins being the #1 scoring team in the league.

Fleury's playoff performance is near the bottom of the league over the past four years (including 2009).  Again, the Penguins appear to win in spite of MAF, not because of him.

I thinks things got out of hand on Twitter, just like that game called Telephone... Someone mentioned he might be playing bad because he MIGHT have broken up with his gf and this became a story without any truth to it. I saw a message about this, but more like that breaking up might be a cause to play bad...

fleury worst goalie stats the past 3yrs in playoffs. the regular season means absolutely nothing. with the league leading scoring team they could have any goalie in nhl in there and they win 35-40games. he chokes come playoff time every year. people still give this guy a free pass because he was a cup team. might i add he had the worst goalie stats of any goalie since 1983 to win a cup. he is the trent dilfer of hockey. great team around him just dont screw up to bad and you win.

If Penns got rid of Fleury, and sent him to another team, and he was their main goalie, then Penguins would score twice as many goals with him guarding the net. BIG beneficial trade. We get a good goalie and they get the worst goalie in the NHL. I think he is a nice guy, but that doesn't win games. Get real and admit that you made a mistake in overpaying a bad player and take yer loss and get someone who will stop the puck, and Penns will be an unbeatable team. I'm sick and tired of watching soft goals get past him, because the defensive players can;t always cover for his horrid abilities!!!!

I have it on good authority that Staal and MAF are quite close. Close enough that they shared the same German girl I know that is over here on a soccer scholarship and such. Randomly met her a couple weekends ago, the Penguins came up (I am not religious, so I just try spread the gospel of Penguinism everywhere I go) and she said she had hooked up with both of them. I found it humorous because they seem like such different kinds of dudes. I picture MAF wanting emo franchophone gals from Quebec and Staal...well, I don't know.

The point is, everyone likes gorgeous German women

You are crazy.  Fleury has proven himself when everyone on the lineup is injured time and time again.  Everyone has a bad night, and when it is his bad night.  It's a 2point loss at most on average.  We had a pretty decent lineup this year prior to injuries (excluding crosby; losing faith in vaginas).  It's a physical sport, everytime you get hit it'll feel like a concussion, many of players have been out and back in two times with concussions. Grow up and stop wasting Pittsburgh' tax money while you sit on your ass and QQ

Reply-to:
The goaltending is the Pens worst element, I dont understand why people think that Fleury is good, he is average at his best. He lets up soft goals constantly, is inconsistent and is prone to flopping down on his stomach (which i am sick of seeing in NHL goalies). The only thing that makes me want fleury to play is the fact that Johnson is a terrible back up and should go back to the AHL. I love the pens but they have a nasty habit of getting lazy and sloppy for about 10 min each game and in those situations you need a goalie that is reliant, and pittsburghs goaltending is not. Trade them both if you want to win. If I see Fleury let up another soft wrist shot to the glove side Im going to go crazy. Pens got Offense, they got Defense but they have no help between the pipes.
