Emery took Ottawa Sens & Anaheim Ducks to the playoffs. He's had the top 5 highest GAA & save percentage in the league on numerous occasions. He had a hip disease that destroyed Bo Jackson's career & even Jackson praised Emery for his perseverance to overcome what science deemed impossible & fight the disease. He was never supposed to walk again, let alone skate, or even play in the NHL. Don't judge Emery on his quick rise to fame & money at the age of 23. He's 29 years old now, has been through hell & back & was nominated for a Masterson Trophy for his hard work getting back into the league. Watch any video of his recovery on youtube and you will be amazed. He had a rough game with the Oilers, but the game before that was terrific. Even Corey Crawford got pulled from the Oilers game, who is the starter. Defense got into a lot of trouble within the media as all goals they were either in the way or doing nothing.

WHAT THE HELL!!! He gave up 7 goals yesterday to the Oilers.

Ray was kicked out of the NHL because he has a coke problem and screwed him relationship with the Sens. Go ahead and ask McGratts, you could tell on the recent OTR interview that Brian got the help he needed and he "hopes Razor does well and gets it together". He's still rockin the coke hard I bet.

"Sorry guys in advance....but why did he leave the NHL in the first place? I'm sure this has already been answered and I missed it"

My understanding is that he never really left the NHL on his own accord. No team wanted him because when he was with Ottawa he was completely ridiculous. Would show up late for practice, sometimes not show up with practice, have a bad attitude with teammates and coaching staff, that kind of thing. Not exactly someone that I want on the Flyers considering their my favorite team. But oh well we'll see how it goes...hopefully his year in Russia made him grow up.

Anonymous (Sophomore) wrote on Mon, 04 May 2009 19:51:14 GMT
It's true about Philly taking interest in him. Heard it live on the NHL network on NHL Live today. But before anything can be done, they need to decide what to do about Biron and Nittymaki.

Now all is well. Spasibo!
I am satisfied with this response. I would be delighted to see Ray in Russia!
Anonymous (Veteran) wrote on Sun, 12 Apr 2009 20:20:06 GMT
Ray signed a two year contract with the KHL team last summer.  He just finished the first year, and there is an "out clause" allowing him to come back to North America if he chooses to.  But back in December he said on a Toronto radio station that there was an 80% chance he goes back to Russia for the second year.  Wait until July when teams start signing players after the season is over.  An NHL team might give him a contract that he can't refuse.  We'll have to wait and see what he does next season.

Anonymous (Veteran) wrote on Fri, 10 Apr 2009 17:06:36 GMT
The last person is right.  Teams know that he's a solid goaltender.  It's other things that they're concerned about.
Anonymous (Veteran) wrote on Fri, 10 Apr 2009 16:34:21 GMT
its not his playing abilities that teams are questioning....
Anonymous (Sophomore) wrote on Thu, 09 Apr 2009 12:14:32 GMT

he owns a home in ottawa so why would'nt he be here???
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 28 Mar 2009 07:06:45 GMT
True, but I sometimes wonder if he was like dropped on his head or something. Like he is so crazy. He wants to come back to the NHL yet he acts like a complete tool most of the time. He has got to see that as long as he keeps doing these crazy things no NHL team is going to want him. I wonder what he was doing in Ottawa though.

Anonymous (Veteran) wrote on Fri, 27 Mar 2009 10:44:53 GMT
he's in ottawa...

Provincial police confirmed Grenville County OPP pulled over the Hummer around 10:30 p.m. Sunday after an officer noticed the vehicle travelling at excessive speeds on Hwy. 416.

Police charged Emery under the stunt driving provisions of the Highway Traffic Act. The Ontario law allows police to impound a vehicle if they catch it going 50 km/h or more over the posted speed limit. Police did not have information on how fast they clocked the vehicle.

Police seized the Hummer and Emery's driver's licence for seven days. Now, the luxury SUV is collecting dust at a towing company's yard in Kemptville until Emery is allowed to retrieve it.
