Yeah, they're certainly struggling, but they started out horrible last year as well, and made it to the semifinals. Then again, Ward wasn't looking too hot before he got hurt, so maybe a rest will let him refocus a little bit. They definitely need another goalie, though... I don't think Leighton is solid enough to carry the team that long.

players have been seriously been hurt before.. by stick/pucks to their eyes.. and I honestly think suing is a non issue. because it is player choice and they know the risk. so if they do get hurt.. its horrible.. but it's certainly not the NHL's fault. it's just circumstance of the game.. anything can happen at any time.

Well, I think it should be up to the players, seeing as it's their health/body/whatever at risk. But from a business standpoint and trying not to get sued... the NHL might see it as a good thing to require visors. lol

Kind of like the "you have to wear your seat belt" law... I find that really dumb. If I choose to not wear a seat belt, it's not hurting anyone else. Even though I do wear one... why make it illegal to risk your life?

Also on a side note, my bf went home to DC and was at the game. He said he saw Brooksy talking to Sasha during the third period and giving him like a pat on the back :) I thought that was really great. I think Semin's hair is kind of like mine but dark blond ... I'm light brown but it looks different colours depending on the light - blonde in the summer, darker in the winter and sometimes I look like a redhead.

Rest up, Ellie. I don't recall the infectious period for mono, but I think you can potentially spread the virus for 1 yr after infection. Can't be a hermit forever, just be careful once your symptoms dissipate (usually about 1 month). It spreads through saliva, so don't share lipstick or water bottles.

Yeah....i think they're just thinking of the beginning of last year when Ovie was in Russia and Semin was an absolute beast (being a winner becomes that boy lol seeing him panting after coming off a great shift and sitting on the bench looking up at a replay of some badass goal...yum). But yeah he can't be Ovie. THe whole team needs to step up. B.Mo and Knoobs weren't exactly well-behaved either...and they're vets.

Even the older fans are d*cks on that board though. They use their years of suffering during the pre-Ovi era to justify their impatience and blind rage whenever the Caps don't measure up to their expectations. My bf grew up with the Caps and sometimes does the same thing lol-we have some interesting debates after games. I rag on Schultz sometimes but yeah complaining as much as they do is useless. Who knows if it's BB not being as effective or the players themselves? Just enjoy the game and don't get so angry about it lol.

Yeah holy crap the caps boards are like..unreadable for anyone who doesn't have rage issues. I actually stopped following them awhile ago. I always think of this fight whenever anyone mentions his temper lol. I always found him to be kind of a major DILF, dunno why. Wow my internet is really slow....I keep replying to stuff like half a page back lol. Have you been able to sleep Ellie? Rest is really the most important thing. Hopes you're better soon. And yeah RK apparently Olie was not a fan of Semin's attitude and unwillingness to learn English or something. I mean we all know that's just him being shy and stuff but I guess every team needs a vet like Olie to call out the young cubs for acting like dumbasses sometimes...and Olie had quite the temper himself.

Lol RK my cousin is dating a man from GA and totally does that. She sweetly pretends she agrees with whatever he's going on about and then goes and does whatever she wants anyways and he usually loves the results lol. According to her it's the only way anything gets done with men like that. And yeah actually he needs to be self-sufficient and tough. Maybe I can teach him how to fix his car, or cook? Oh and homeboy definitely looks like he'd drown himself trying to do laundry. Sh$t we all probably know about....a billion times more things about practical aspects of life lol. Ah well...his reward can be his own satisfaction...and whatever other incentives are thrown his way :P

oh.. Ovie just snapped after a game cause Sasha got singles out after a bad game..it seemed that everyone was jumping on him.. I think Semin can play D to a certain extent.... I love when Bruce puts him on PK because he generally has a really good game and plays responsibly whenever he does. He's just not willing to go all out to backcheck like Ovie will..which is yeah a problem.

I do have a question that you ladies may or may not be able to answer... but when the Devils scored their first goal, I noticed all of the Caps players who were on the ice at the time (other than Semin) were down closer to the goal, battling for the puck, while Sema stood there and watched.

Is that his job to stand there and wait for someone to send the puck his way? Am I really missing something big here? Or does he just not do any defense at all...

It's so frustrating to watch. I mean it might have been him just buckling under the pressure but you didn't see Backstrom taking 3 penalties and he's under the gun to score as well. Or any of the other guys not named alex. Semin's just always had Ovie as a sort of bandaid as far as the team goes, in my opinion. When he does well, it's amazing. When he screws up it's not as bad because Ovie's consistently awesome and usually Sema will get an assist in there somewhere. And because he's so good Bruce hasn't really ever just benched his ass for a game (which I sincerely hope he does), so he gets away with thinking he can score another goal and be like human white-out.

I really hope Bruce benches his ass and that he gets chewed out by the team so that he gets his head on straight.
