Maybe a reason why he looks Downs-esque, some family mingling. Maybe he is a pure breed. Maybe this is the biggest issue in the russian society and a bigger reason why theyve never got their ish together.

I think that comparison is like apples to oranges. First Sidney and Mario aren't related. Sidney makes millions of dollars and can afford his own place. Second Ovi has his own place, his parents live with him. 
If you went to say, Russia, to live where you weren't familiar with the language or culture and you have the choice to live alone or have your parents live with you, I think you'd chose the latter. At least, I know I would.
Plus, I heard that young Russians often live with their parents well beyond the time young Americans do, so it isn't out of the ordinary for him to do it.
