Well all you wellie fans looks like the nucks havent renewed his contract this year, too much money being spent on inconsistent crap outs like luongo, i dont know whrere wellie is going to turn up but some lucky team will get him. Hope he gets to play here in bc sometimes so we can watch him again. I think he will turn out to be a great hockey player, his challenge is to get himself into the proper kind of shape to get into a patrick kane, or henrik zetterberg mode. He can do it if he wants it bad enough, hopefully the nucks will keep him on the moose, they will need him.

Well done welly...you shone(shined) like the skilled player you are. And that scares me...because of the stupidity of the coach and management they will probably only see that as trade bait. The truth is that vigneault needs to be traded, most of the vancouver loss can be dumped on him. Chicago has skating defense not just hulks, Canucks have them too, only they're all on the Moose. As it turned out the clumsy canuck defense (except for erhoff) were relentlessy pressured until they did what was expected, turn the puck over or make a hurried pass into the skates or behind a blur of a skater like raymond, stopping his momentum, allowing the skating chicago defense to break the play. And whats up with not pulling luongo; Quenville pulled his #1 goalie when he needed to. HE DID HIS JOB and made the right decision. Every minor league coach in BC would have done the same thing. None of them would have played luongo or salo. Unfortunately winning hockey requires confidence in your team mates. And primarily in the goal keeper. This is not news, the same sad story happened last year, hey and guess what' remember the year before, a mild shot from the blueline by neidermeyer went in the net past a whining luongo, standing waiting for a penalty to be called. In most cases no news is good news, but in our case no news is bad news, and bad coaching, and bad goaltending which needs to be addressed by a real coach. In any other team a player like wellwood is called Kane, or Zetterberg, a choke prone goalie like Luongo is called back-up, or price or Nabokov. When all is said, its probably Rick Boness' responsibility to make the decisons on the defense. If they don't fire you please try and get some skaters, did you see how many times vancouvers clunky defense was beaten to the puck, even when they had a headstart. Back to the coaching disaster, why weren't hordichuck and glass playing in a game where mashing a banging is the norm. These two guys thrive in this kind of environment...O well not a bad effort from most of the canucks. crappy effort from coach and i guess management.

Hey mr luongo looked kind of solid tonight, almost a shutout. Lots of canucks hurt trying to keep pucks from getting to him though. welly looked good as usual even earned a third star nomination, in fact he looked like a 2nd line center, close behind sedin. Daniel is struggling, getting jabbed and clipped a lot. He cant let this work, take a lesson from obrien, suck it up and let the world see how much bettman is trying to push his american dream of 20 or 30k seat arenas in the US. On the other hand this is not a bad idea; I'd rather watch professional hockey any day than watch basketball, too much scoring, too easy to get to the net(or basket). If any of those big shmucks tried to drive to a net in a hockey game they'd get flattened by a battered semi-toothless canadian. On to game six in vancouver I'm clearing my evening to watch the whole game, I have to work most evenings so I pvr tape the game and and thankfully fast forward the repetitve commercials. i miss gary valks game assessments, milbury and hrudey are not bad tho. They're starting to notice welly. Don Cherry is a big welly fan, good eye Don.

Holy mother of Jehosophat has anyone taken a look at Luongos page? Not one good comment; What is missing is the friendly comments of his fans saying he's having a bad day or something like that. Luongo is looking like the biggest mistake ever made in the NHL And he does this every year, chokes in the playoffs. He should be pulled and bitch slapped by a real captain. Go back to sleep Raycroft, vig and gillis will play luong again, he has been the most consistent let down of all vancouvers playoff games and why change now, Hell chicago benched their star goalie and went with the backup Niemi, thats never going to work out, he's not a good goaltender, he's only making 500gs. I feel sorry for lu tho. The playoffs separate the true winners from the true losers, what a way to find out what you are, the sad thing is the canucks could win the cup this year. The best thing you could do now is to fake a groin pull and sit out until you get your mojo back, Let welly, ray and the boys get you to the sharks then start over., that groin pull and good stint on the sidelines seems to inspire you to stop some pucks and quit whining about mean nasty blackhawks.

You guys (canucks) need to take a look at your team mates jersey, there is a killer whale on it, the top predator on the planet, You can win the stanley cup, Gary bettman wants a US team to win it because if they can popularize hockey there the market is 10 times the size as Canada's. Therefore if americans want to watch hockey Bettman visualizes the rinks will hold 10 times the amount they do now. A great dream. Unfortunately for a canadian team with all the  right ingredients a nightmare. Referees control the game, bettman controls the referees. All i can say for the nucks is to wear extra padding on the back, and on the legs and hands, grow an extra eye because you are playing against the referees too. But if you know anything about Canadians these are not long odds, history is full of ripe round butts we've kicked. Take it to 'em Welly, skate like the wind, command the frozen water like the orca does.

Yeah burrows was a force alright, mr. king of stupid penalties, and the prince of stupider penalties daniel sedin. somebody needs to remind alberts that he's a hitter not a hugger.and whats up with vigneault playing luongo after two unanswered goals; all post olympics the canucks have been pulling the goaltender out of the craphole, ergo the famous line" third period comeback leaders." If luongo is only going to make that one great save then put him in as backup. Baseball pitchers do it all the time. What vancuver needs is a solid journeyman goaltender like Niemi, or heaven forbid Raycroft. Welly is looking like he is ,a small, gifted playmaker/passer with some speed and great hands. And what about the clumsy defense, the moose has great mobile, agile defensemen in the wings, Columbe for one. Wake up canucks, you're in the playoffs, you're going to be pressured, play like a team, 5 men going up the ice together, chicago has you number, relentless pressure on the defense, canuck forwards standing waiting for a magical pass, chicago waiting like winners for flubbed attempt.

Goodbye LA, thanks for the lesson on canuck bashing. A good portent of whats coming down the road in the next series, put the puck somewhere near the net slash bang and hope for a lucky bounce, crappy kind of hockey to watch, they need to put a camera inside the blue paint so we all can watch pucks go in in real time..now fast forward to the other end of the rink and watch on e of the sedins goals...see what i mean. Meanwhile back at the wellwood ranch...LA got his number in the last game, he spent a lot of time flat on the ice, the big guys flatten him pretty easily, but at least it keeps them off the sedins for a little while; looks like they're putting serious checking on welly, again it takes pressure off the sedins. Hey watch out for burrows, looks like he's back, even if it took a cripple type empty netter to get him reacquainted with the back of the net, he will be a force in series 2. I feel like i'm tallkig to myself here, which is kind of good because i dont have to type my best...

Game 4, canucks looked like zombies in the first 2 periods, desperate, getting trapped too many times LA is lightning quick to jump up i ce when too many canucks are down low. and whats with canucks passing..clunky easily anticipated stinkers miss-timed badly executed.Except for wellwoods passing, he stood out even to the (sometimes)blind to brilliance hockey announcers. great game, luongo came through with the big save, sedin is a master hocky player,..

game 2, la vs canucks. Youhave to wonder what constitutes a penalty in this game, someone has to tell luong to stop with the theatrical dives and play goal like quick has been playing, with poise and lightning fast reflexes  and determination to stop every puck or die trying. thats the way a goalie is supposed to play, the refs are hardened to luongos drive to draw a penalty.Neverthe less should be a good series, LA is big and skilled, relentless and young.vANcouver will keep shooting hopefully no more rediculous penalties...

Looks more and more like canucks will face the redwing in the first series of the playoffs. They have a pest called Zetterberg who undresses the canucks defensive efforts. he's exciting to watch, he'd be great as a canuck. Canucks defense looks clumsy in the short close in game like their sticks are too long or something, but they look good when they're skating with the puck. Wellwood looked pretty good with some of his amazing passes that raymond, kesler, and others nearly scored with. Luongo still looks ordinary, nothing great and its spooky to think he'll carry that kind of result into the playoffs. Keep the bandwagon close by.

If luongo is going to play tonight its going to be a serious test of his abillity and usefullness to the team. A lot of the sports commentators say this could be the year of the cup if Luongo is luongo. Lets face it, when hes good he can be great, when hes not good, he's even less than ordinary. But whats worse is that because of his credibility no one will pull him when its needed, or "healthy scratch" him, even "Moose" him; the only tried and true cure for inconsistency. You certainly don't keep a struggling player in to where its hurting the team and worst of all disappointing the fans. You know us, the  poor shmucks that keep this game going by watching it and paying .

Great game against the ducks entertainment-wise. The canuck goals all looked stylish, clean off the blade of sticks; In sharp contrast to the way hockey is becoming these days, where an almost errant puck bounces in after a clumsy mad scramble in front of the net, sometimes quite unexpectedly off someones butt or shoelace or shinpad, by football-like players charging the net slashing and hacking. And this is considered a goal the same as if it was finessed in by a dedicated hockey player playing the true game with skates and skill and dazzling moves that none of us fans will ever be able to do. I guess thats why I like Wellwood. He's too small to play sasquatch hockey so he plays the way I like to see it, with honor grace and excellence, and sometimes the odd, rude tip-in. Watch out Minnesota, the canucks might just decide to play Raycroft again.

Holy moly what a sideshow last night. Luongo let in 8 goals,he looked scrambly and desperate while the other goal keeper looked calm and focused. HE looked like Luongo should look. Lu looked like me if I was in goal and thats not good. Why he wasn't pulled is a mystery that only a good look at the small print of the conract could show. Maybe, hopefully its to give Raycroft a rest before the playoffs.Luongo has choked on nearly every playoff series hes ever been in. And it frightens me to think he will be playing while Raycroft is sitting on the bench and Shneider is playing for the Moose. On the bright side, Wellwood looked good, he's finally found some place other than the goaltenders glove hand to shoot at. He played his usual shifty game, stealing pucks, making impossible passes, great to watch. Have a great series....

Tough loss, but Kyle you are brilliant at passing. Nice couple of goals. Could you give Hank some lessons on passing? I know that might shock some people, but if anyone is counting, i'd lay odds, Hank makes as many very bad passes as good ones. Oh well, everyone wants to make it through the season in one piece. Hope its a better game against the Ducks. Gran.

Yeah the canucks all look cute, especially when they're winning, and when they smile and show all their tooth gaps.

Ok luomngo stopped 31 shots, almost as many as his defense and forwards. welly looked good, shifty little guy that he is, sedin looks like a master, welly had a shift with hordichuk and rypien i think. they owned the ice almost their entire shift. But I'd love to watch the skullduggery that wellwood and the sedins could come up with, probably too much passing. Does any one else talk hockey on this site? Who cares if wellwood looks cute, he's a canuck, they all look cute.

Again luongo looks like he badly needs his mojo back, the question is why isnt he sent to the moose to get it back,?Welly and the boys are getting crunched while lose ongo lets in weak goals. He needs a rest..Shneider needs his chance, Raycroft can hold the line til Louie is back. Sharks had Welly covered pretty good, he had some chances but manages to hit the goaltender all the time. Maybe somebody needs to just tell him to aim for the places where the opposing goal tender is NOT. Also Welly needs to let the big guys like Darcy and Tanner do their jobs and protect him, so he'll have more confidence; I suspect he can play like any of the elite players if the enforcer add him to their list. Remember a guy named Gretzky and his spooky shadow named McSorley...anyways..good luck to all canucks and their incredible fans during the run to the Cup.

Here are some sites to check out: Both athletes and those over age 45 should take magnesium supplements, antioxidants, omega-3 oils, eat more vegetables and avoid foods and artificial sweeteners containing excitotoxins such as aspartame and MSG. This accomplishes a lot more than attempting to rescue a victim with an external defibrillator after the fact. Dr. Blaylock's web site is http://www.russellblaylockmd.com. He is author of "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills and Health & Nutrition Secrets to Save Your Life." He can be seen in the movie on aspartame, "Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World." Copies are available from Cori@soundandfuryproductions.com [Also see the page at: http://www.wnho.net/sweet_misery_movie.htm] Case histories now being taken on aspartame and brain tumors from New York, New Jersey, Illinois and Mississippi in the last three years. The FDA records on ephedra were reviewed by the renowned neuroscientist Dr. John Olney who founded the field of neuroscience called excitotoxicity and tried to prevent the approval of aspartame and said ephedra is safe.http://www.wnho.net

Kyle: why you and your teammates and coach should avoid gum: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/4/prwebxml225071.php Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D. explains the relationship between sudden cardiac death, especially in athletes, and excitotoxic damage produced by food additives and artificial sweeteners. When an excess of food-borne excitotoxins, such as MSG, hydrolyzed protein soy protein isolate and concentrate, natural flavoring, sodium caseinate and aspartate from aspartame, are consumed, these glutamate receptors are over-stimulated, producing cardiac arrhythmias. When magnesium stores are low, as we see in athletes, the glutamate receptors are so sensitive that even low levels of these excitotoxins can result in cardiac arrhythmias and death.
