Steven Stamkos is a Canadian born in Scarbourgh, Ontario and raised in Unionville. His mother was born a Walker (last name) in Scotland and moved to Toronto as a child. His dad was born in East York, Ontario (Danforth) and his parents are enthic macedoian from a small village named Alona around the region of Florina, Greece. They spoke both anicent macedoian and Greek. It is true that the Greek and Yugoslavian/Bulgarian governments changed many last names throughout history, but I tend to diagree in this case. He is not Yugoslavian, Bulgarian, Albainan, FYROM, or Greek. He is enthic macedoian, end of disscussion. Therefore Steven Stamkos is a proud Canadian with Scotish and Macedoian bloodlines. |

ok I actually went to school with Stamkos so i can say he IS MACEDONIAN because he SPeAKS macedonian NOT greek. and yes who ever wrote taht stuff about some macedonians have their names changed IS RIGHT beacuse people were forced to change their names in part of macedonia that the Greeks took over. |
