I love Kent Jones, too! He's still on trms and has been posting some great stuff on the blog lately, especially these fake memos that are supposed to be from the RNC. I hope he'll be back on the air soon!!!!!!!

The Professional Golfers' Association of America (with or without the apostrophe and also known as the PGA of America) is the world's largest working sports organization, comprised of 27,000 men and women golf Professionals who are the recognized experts in growing, teaching and managing the game of golf, while serving millions of people throughout its 41 PGA Sections nationwide. Although the PGA logo is a registered trademark and cannot be used on promotional products or decorated apparel without permission from the organization, there are many unscrupulous companies that traffic in counterfeit PGA merchandise. The most counterfeited PGA apparel item is golf shirts (also known as polo shirts). In addition, the top golf shirt brands are counterfeited such as Nike, Adidas, Ping, Greg Norman, Tiger Woods, Izod and Arnold Palmer. The second most counterfeited PGA apparel item is jackets and t-shirts, with printed t-shirts being the most popular followed by embroidered t-shirts. Tied for third place are embroidered patches and hats. The least counterfeited PGA apparel or accessories items are sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts (hoodies)and fleece blankets. The mission of The PGA of America is to promote enjoyment and involvement in golf among the general public, as well as to contribute to the game’s growth by producing services to golf Professionals and the industry. The PGA seeks to accomplish this mission by enhancing the skills of the PGA Professionals and expanding playing opportunities for the general public, employers and manufactures. Through these efforts, The PGA elevates the standards of the PGA Professional’s vocation, enhances the economic well-being of the individuals PGA member, stimulates interest in the game of golf and promotes the overall vitality of the game.

Is he still on the show? I haven't seen his image on the show for a while... but I still sense his obvious ham-fisted writing somewhere in the background. Isn't there an opening for him at ET?

Rachael is extraordinarily smart and crystal clear in her message. I would much rather spend another three minutes hearing her insights/guests than poor Kent...un-funny, trite and a contributional waste. I'm reminded of a lame and younger Andy Rooney. Come on Rachael....surely there are other options for "comic relief" to your message (which I DON'T need). I'm glad you are friends and sure he is a very nice guy, but this is NOT his venue.

I actually LOVE Kent Jones... I found this lame sight because I was Googling him.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Thu, 22 Jul 2010 03:45:29 GMT

I don't think I have ever seen a so-called comedian come on national TV and be so seriously unfunny, boring and unhumourous.  Can someone please let MSNBC and Rachel Maddow know.  Kent Jones is truly awful, so tedious to watch that I can barely contemplate it!

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Wed, 21 Jul 2010 23:18:01 GMT
Arrrghhhh! Jones, please end our pain and just come out of the closet! Then move to Entertainment Tonight where you belong!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 25 Jun 2010 22:38:29 GMT
When I first typed those magic words into google a year and a half ago, this was pretty much the only hit.  An empty comment board (I remember it looking different), but I thought to myself, "at least someone hated him enough to create a board for it."  I didn't even glance at the URL, I just quick posted in a blind rage.  Felt so so so good.  I realized my mistake later (is he in the PGA too? where does he find the time, lol?), felt a twinge of embarassment, and let it go.

I tried the same search just today to see if the internet hate level had increased now that Maddow's pretty well entrenched on MSNBC.

Y'all just made my damn day!  And Kent Jones still sucks!

When will the pain end? Somebody please put a metal cap over him to prevent more unfunny leakage.

hooray! i'm not crazy. kent jones really does suck.

I loooove the Rachel Maddow show, and I don't want to bring Rachel down, but Kent Jones is not the slightest bit clever or funny.  Rachel's show is so great, then Kent Jones comes on and it's like... What?...  There are a great many truly funny liberal comedians out there.  I'm sure plenty of them would jump at the chance to be on the RMS.  Let's put some brains and wits in the comedy segment.  PLEASE!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Wed, 16 Dec 2009 05:02:20 GMT
every time kent jones says "WEEEEAK" during his "weak in review" segment, i want to throw darts at his head.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 13 Nov 2009 19:54:43 GMT

Is it too late for KJ to launch into another career?  Y'know...one where he actually displays TALENT?

I wish the dude no harm, but c'mon.  Enough banality is enough.  I didn't want to say this, but now I'm gonna hafta:  Ken Jones is to comedians as Larry King is to interviewers.

Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 13 Nov 2009 09:53:54 GMT
ROTFLMAO...In reading all these posts I've found my happy place. See you next segment.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 13 Nov 2009 09:47:46 GMT
LOL some of these posts are awesome. It appears the man is a more than decent writer. He spent years on Air America with Rachel and is an Emmy winning writer for the Daily Show (90's). That said - HE SUCKS!!! He ruins the show for me every time. Just when I'm basking in the afterglow of watching Rachel make these elected officials smile, giggle and squirm like pubescent girls, Kent fcuking Jones comes along dumps ice cold water on me and shoves me out in the snow. HE SUCKS!!! I feel better now
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 13 Nov 2009 09:41:30 GMT
This is internet heaven. THANK GOD I found some place rip into Kent Jones' SUCK bone. HE SUCKS!! I email TRMS staff all the time but I could never put my name to a KJ dis - she likes him too much.

Oh how google searches bring people together. So good to hear from other likeminded folks. Thank god for Rachel's cocktail moment to provide us with a refreshing after dinner mint following Kent Jones' crap brulee.

Now if only we could find away to get rid of Kent, while simultaneously bringing Melissa Harris-Lacewell onto the show permanently...Well now that would really be a tasty treat.

Wow! This guy makes me have to take a knee. Horrible. But he's maddows gay friend, so...
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 18 Aug 2009 09:22:48 GMT
I agree with everyone. Kent Jones sucks. I also found this page through Google. Does anybody really find him funny? Rachel Maddow probably just feels sorry for him and can't get rid of him.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Mon, 20 Jul 2009 05:04:58 GMT
Will there ever be an end to the pain he causes? He is SO bland and corny!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 30 Jun 2009 03:01:03 GMT
Could not agree more. What the fock could she see in him?
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Sat, 20 Jun 2009 17:04:52 GMT
I also found this page by typing in google "Kent Jones sucks". Interesting.

"He delivers weak material with an overbearing, breathless tone, and his jokes are obvious and lame." No sentence could better describe the colossal, irritating and tragic wast of time that is the Kent Jones segment.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 12 Jun 2009 02:17:14 GMT
Kent Jones sucks SO hard Rachel should change the name of his segment to 'Hoover's Comedy Death'. All the amazing writers she could have plucked from Air America and she goes with Kent? Is it too late to trade him in for a wide awake colonoscopy? It would be hands down less painful!
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 10 Apr 2009 15:09:55 GMT
I found this forum by googling "Kent Jones sucks", because Kent Jones sucks.

He delivers weak material with an overbearing, breathless tone, and his jokes are obvious and lame.

The last 3 minutes of the Maddow show, wasted on this idiot. Think about all the actually witty people out there who could kill during that spot. And we get some dude who gives off a vibe of possibly pulling a clown horn out of his pocket to blow after his shitty jokes.

I sometimes speculate that he's manic depressive, and somehow ingratiated himself to Rachel or to the show's producers, and that his tears-of-a-clown presence on the show is the only thing in his life preventing him from spiraling into suicidal depression.

Nothing else adequately explains his continued presence.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Tue, 07 Apr 2009 02:03:19 GMT
You're right. He sucks. He's so bad it makes me feel uncomfortable when I watch him.
Anonymous (Rookie) wrote on Fri, 23 Jan 2009 05:03:49 GMT
Feels odd to be the only one who thinks so, but Kent Jones sucks, and you can take that to the bank.  He does banal pop culture comedtary, which is sin enough.  But, more unforgivably, he makes the brilliant and much funnier Rachel Maddow look stupid for laughing maniacally at it.
