Hi Rocco, Just came across your fan club because I wanted to thank you... for the color and entertainment you bring to professional golf (your US Open playoff with Tiger was a fantastic tournament!) and to now thank for you positive radio comments about Tiger Woods and the whole unfortunate situation he is in. Its nice to see you tell the press and the mob to Leave Him Alone, and give Tiger and his wife some space to work things out. It was so hard to hear Jespers harsh comments about Tiger on the Golf Channel, so it was good to hear a more positive interview and outlook from another pro golfer! I wrote in the following to an NBC sports online forum that had some people encouraging Tiger to get through this and others who just tossed him under the bus: "To all you people who don't know Tiger Woods and don't really know what really did happen in this whole situation, and seem to enjoy bringing him down and calling him trash and stupid and all kinds of other negative things..... why don't you just work on your own transgressions and sins and failings! Let him and his wife work out THEIR situation. The world would be a much better place if people and nations wanted the best for each other and learned how to really love one another. Try wishing others the best when they are down. Try saying a prayer for someone who is having difficulty or who made a mistake and is feeling grief and anxiety and pain... Why don't we all think and pray some good thoughts for him and Elin and family so they can stay together... the world does not need another broken family. Tiger has done a lot of good and is a good person, in spite of his shortcomings and mistakes and failures... and no one here yet knows what really happened in this case which is just charged with plenty of speculation and gossip..... not solid facts. How would you like to have your worse mistake put out in public like with all kids of untrue aspects to it and then have a crowd (a mob might be a better word here) of people try and convict you! I frankly, think the world has had enough of all this. Leave the guy and his family alone... " I wish you all the best in the upcoming New Year and in the 2010 Tour season! (PS: Do you ever make comments here on this fan forum?) Howard D. hdphoto@earthlink.net

This US Open was rough for the man Rocco but is still awesome! Can't win them all but can sure try. I love his perseverance and how he keeps on even though people talk so badly about him. Characteristic of a true athlete. On top of that the man is an awesome person. What more can you ask for. He definitely deserves to be invited as one of sports' top 25 legends to some big poker tournament this fall. Rocco definitley Rocks! Keep pushing dude!

Rocco!!

You made Tiger injure himself!!  For that you can never be forgiven.  Please stop making excellent golfers injure themselves.  Be comsiderate of the fans.  You came in 2nd at the Open and we lost eight months of Tiger.  Was that worth it to you?  Because it wasn't worth it to me.  Boo Rocco!!  Boo on you!!!

Rocco-

I am from the area where you grew up. Being a avid golf fan , I look forward to seeing you play in Akron, Ohio. The field is changing and the competition is exciting. It is nice to see an addition like yourself coming to play. I hope to meet you. It would be my pleasure!

Rocco,

The most exciting golf  I've ever watched.  I know it's by no means at the same level, but at 36 , I played point guard in a 2 outta 3 championship playoff in basketball in one night.  We ultimately won after 3 games that night and I couldn't get outta bed the next day.  I was spent and couldn't even walk after I cooled off.  I fully felt for once, especially playing against/with opponents and teammates 10 or more my youth, that I left nothing on the playing field.  As proud as I am for my efforts that day, watching you blew me away and reinforced my will to win and perform under incredible amounts of stress.

Like I said, I know what you did is on another level, but afteall, it's all relative.  Had my jump shot or assist had a million bucks behind it, I'm not sure if I would have been inspired by the opportunity to win it or scared of missing to lose it.  But, watching you, I could tell you really only cared about winning.

Either way, Bravo!  I play golf, too, but every time I swing the club, I have no idea what the outcome.  Here's to kissing you're butt.  God Bless and good luck!

Rocco,

Wish I could find how to talk to you directly. I went to Florida Southern for a year and thought I could play. Went to a meeting with Coach Matlock and just laughed. I'll never forget my short time there and how good Coach was to me even though I couldn't break 75. Congrats on a great open and good luck.

Rocco,

I just turned 40 May 28th....have been frustrated with my game for years. Your performance this week was something for all of us 'old guys' to savor....and a true motivational tool for any of my upcoming club tourneys .

Thank You for showing me and the entire world that ANYONE is beatable at anytime if you focus and work hard.

Thank you also for a tremendous Fathers day treat!

I am truly in awe of your performance.

Rocco,

Thank you for sharing your heart and soul with millions who have savored every moment of this U.S. Open. When I get old and try to recall some of the past Opens, this one will be the one I remember in great detail.

I also loved your peace sign belt buckle. I literally started clapping when I saw it. :D

Best of luck to you Rocco, stay strong and come back next year and do it again. I am now your number one fan!

Rocco,

Golf became enjoyable when Tiger came on the tour, he brought energy, youth and emotion...He made it a game the average joe could relate to...  Then, you show up, friendly, playing to the crowd, not stuffy but one of us, the regular people, down to earth, laid back but with a dream...  You may have not won the OPEN but you won a lot of fans and I believe, made one of the most memorable Majors I have seen or may have ever been seen for generations to come.  I look forward to the DVD on this one to pass on to my kids.  Thank you, for such a great memory!

Rocco,

You may have come up a stroke or two short but you won the hearts of every golf fan and probably every sports fan in general. Congratulations on the grittiest performance in a sporting event I have ever seen.

I don't think it will be a stretch to say that you will be a future Ryder Cup Captain, the players on tour love you, golf fans love you and you know what it takes to win!

Lastly, if I had to pick between you and Tiger to play 18 holes with and just enjoy the round, you win hands down.

Your biggest fan,

Mark Spielman

Rocco,

I just want to tell you how proud I am of your play in the 2008 U.S. Open. You are a true gentleman and a great golfer. I had the pleasure to meet you during a golf event in New Jersey some years ago. I must say you haven't changed one bit. If anything your golf game got better.

Keep your head up, because you earned it. Sure I wish you would have won on Monday, but you won the hearts of many viewers and golfers.  May your future be bright and may you stay healty for a long time. I enjoy your golf game.

Rocco-you were the "Everyman" vs "Superman" and you almost pulled off the greatest upset in the U S Open history=you won't be a footnote in Tiger's Major Championship book-you'll be an entire chapter!

Rocco,

I am in awe! You are an incredible sportsman, and an inspiration for everyone and an example of the perfect competitor. This was the best major I have ever witnessed. In my view you are a winner and I do hope that you will continue to play and .......... maybe next time ................

You are the first to push Tiger (And he is the best)

Well done and thank you!

Rocco,

I must confess that I was terribly conflicted. I'm a die hard Tiger fan--I admire excellence. But I also recognized another kind of excellence in watching your play--excellence of spirit. You are a true inspiration to the ideal of good sportsmanship and to the idea of being true to oneself.

Admirable job, Rocco. A ton of people fell in love with you today.
