His vocal talent is bigger than his pop songwriting talent, so unless he hooks up with a great songwriting band or does mostly covers he will not be doing justice to that incredible voice.

Increase the vocals and turn down the band music. This guy forgets what won him American Idol. He thinks he owes his band but that's history. If he doesn't turn down the band he will be right back to before American Idol. Who's producing his music...they should be fired. It's not rock science figuring out what's wrong with this picture.

I feel sorry for the guy in a way. How embarrassed he must be when THE SAME insane fans show up for almost every show, wait all day for just a glimpse of him-and they're all old and fat! Must be thinking that this wasn't the rockstar life he signed up for. WHERE ARE ALL THE HOT YOUNG CHICKS?!?

Just saw David Cook in Charlotte last night (not my choice). I'm not a fan of American Idol at all and really hadn't heard him before. I've seen many shows over the last 20 years and this was one of the worst. Soul-less. A lot of echo on his voice. Guitars did not stand out - more percussion/guitar playing. Sounded like a house band just "playing" the songs not really feeling it. They seemed more into their stage appearance/movements then their sound.
