I see the antagonism has lessened over the years. Perhaps Sir Alex knows rather more than the biased contributors to this site. Perhaps not. Surely this forum should end as negative and subjective arguments no longer hold true. Results not pure un-informed speculation prove the case for Carrick.

Why do Xabi and Alonso rate Carricks so highly? Perhaps he is better than you think. Maybe they should join this club of people who know less than nowt!

There are none so blind as those who cannot see. Surely Sir Alex is able to see Carricks merits and faults.......or perhaps those who have never played at Premier League level nor coached at any level know better than the best manager of all time.

you'd think that if he can regularly pick out a teammate from 50 yards(which is a myth, he makes maybe 1 in 3 of those) that he can regularly pick out the net from 25...

thats true anonymous, people bang on about his "vision" and "long balls" but if you look at the hard facts he has a grand total of 2 assists this season, 1 in the carling cup.

Name TWO good things he did against Bayern, I can remember 1 cross field pass to Nani thats it.

He has no composure, pace, agility, concentration, creativity, technique, aggression, strength, balance, flair, decisions, long throws, off the ball.. ok now im just reading off FM stats but you get the point.

Screw Michael Carrick! We need a creative and playmaker type next to the hardworking Fletcher. Carrick is neither. If you look at the OPTA statistics for the season its clear that he has made no impact at all.

Michael Carrick is an absolute fraud - well said! How he thinks he has the right to wear the number 16 shirt I don't know. He never tackles, he mostly passes the ball to Rio or Vidic, and he has the aggression of an 8 year old girl... HE IS PATHETIC! I'll buy a scarf....

Varrick is an utter fraud of a footballer - a joke.

The worst player ive seen in a red shirt in 30 years.

I have to say he is one of the most limited players I have ever seen to hold down a regular spot in the midfield of a top team. Very slow, gets given so much space because he plays so deep, predictable and has absolutely no flair. Shooting is poor, he is very weak in challenges, mainly passes the ball very simply around.
