Dédé - Théâtre Silvia Monfort

2 min - Jan 10, 2008

Antenne FO
5 min - Jan 11, 2007

The list that probably isn’t true (update: yeah, not true at all) December 13th, 2007 | Posted by PostmanE I know I said we’d keep all MLB stuff over on the House, but since this is as yet unconfirmed, we’ll keep it over here. Over there, it’s wide-scale rumormongering; here, it’s speculative fun. Anyway, here is the list that’s getting passed around all over the place. I’ve now seen this same list a couple times via email, and it was just posted by a commenter at BBTF, too. It may or ma

A guestblogger will be joining us momentarily, and I'll be posting less over the holidays. Meanwhile, my pipeline is still backed up with items from the past year that deserve a more serious treatment than a hurried roundup mention permits. Here are four of them: More docs moving to Texas? Watch out, they must be quacks! After the New York Times reported that doctors seemed to be showing fresh interest in practicing in Texas since its enactment of litigation reforms, our frequent sparring partn

By Eric Goldman Marketing * I've blogged about Various, which operates AdultFriendFinder.com, before. They made the news recently in two ways. First, they sold to Penthouse for half-a-billion dollars. Second, they settled with the FTC for "pelting" users with unwanted sexually graphic pop-up ads. Do you think these developments are linked in any way... ? Could it be that Various was willing to settle up with the FTC on any terms so that they could get a half-billion dollar check? In this resp

Rangers Top Eleven Prospects by Bryan Chapman @ 2:57 pm. Filed under 2008 Rangers Kevin Goldstein at Baseball Prospectus recently published his list of the top eleven Rangers prospects and while a number of these guys weren’t drafted by the Rangers, it’s nice to have a restocked farm system principally after the trades of Eric Gagne and Mark Teixeira.  Neftali Perez, who came over in the Braves trade for Teixeira, is the lone five star prospect and he looks to be a good one.  He dominated

CONFESSIONS OF A SPINNER RACK JUNKIE: THE GARGANTUAN MONSTER HEAD-CRUSHING YEAR-END REVIEW BLOWOUT EPISODE!!! Well, here we go again. This is going to be my big 2007 catch-up review post, in which I write a line or two about the comics I've read since the last time I reviewed comics sometime back in October. Some of these, I'll have more to say than others; if you want in-depth insight go read Jog. Does this mean I'll be doing this on a regular basis again? Probably maybe definitely. Eithe

The latest offseason action comes to us from Chavez Ravine, where Japanese right-hander Hiroki Kuroda passed a physical on Saturday, completing a three-year, $35.2 million deal with the Dodgers. A few other teams were also known to be chasing Kuroda, particularly the Seattle Mariners, who are in desperate need of rotation help. The 32 year-old Kuroda was Bill Bavasi’s top choice to bolster a rotation currently made up of Felix Hernandez, Jarrod Washburn, Miguel Batista, Horacio Ramirez, and Ch

Phillies still have ample time for last-minute shopping Pickings are slim, but shoring up the pitching staff with a short-term deal to a remaining veteran could go a long way in providing the Phillies with better stability. The names you’re about to read may depress you, but somewhere among the list of remaining free agent starters and relievers are pitchers who will outperform Adam Eaton and Tom Gordon next season. The Phillies need to focus in on two problem areas between now and Spring T

Hey gang. Sorry for the delay in posting this week’s new super-comics reviews; the Friday release day put this week’s haul smack dab in the middle of the non-comics blogging portion of my week. Thanks for your patience. On the subject of what-gets-posted-when, look for two days’ worth of updates on Sunday, and the best of 2007 feature on Monday. Next week’s “Weekly Haul” will also be later than usual, due to the holiday and new comics not being released until freaking Friday, but should go up
