I was at a national convention just over a year ago and I saw the FSC table. Looking for Steven and Nick from Fox Football Fone-In, I walked over. Bretos assumed I, being the only person walking somewhat in his direction, wanted an autograph. I felt somewhat bad at first when I told him "No, thanks." But after hearing the next game he commented on, I did not regret my decision. The guy is an egotistical fool. He should be a wrestling commentator. The common player has more insight and class than Max Bretos.

MAX I heard you are no longer at FSC and moved onto ESPN... Hooray I hope you will earn a lot more money and earnestly wish you will also move on to something like wrestling which is more fitting with your termperamental personality and requries less knowledge to broadcast the sport adequately.

Good grief, people are sick. The guy (gal?) who claims he's met Bretos several times and he's "a moron" reveals himself for someone in desperate need of a life of some kind.

Geez, I do a quick search to find out what's up with the Fox Soccer lineup and discover there's this subculture of people who enjoy ripping soccer announcers. It's sports announcing, not brain surgery. Enjoy the fact that people are enthusiastic and knowledgable about the game. You younger people have no clue how far soccer has come in this country in the last 20 years.

You guys are being a little hard on Max. He loves the game and he's a character. Sometimes he says funny things and sometimes he says slightly stupid things, but don't we all? Just accept him for what he is and you will grow to like him. Trust me. I made that decision about 8 years ago and I've liked him more and more ever since. He's kind of like a crazy cousin or something.

Max, I'm very disappointed in your performance during the Galaxy - Barcelona match. I understand that everyone else has had a huge swig of kool-aid but I thought you were better than that. After the way you constantly did your best to "hate on" Beckham and sway the conversation toward Donovan, I've been proved wrong. You used to have credibility when you called the game as you saw it as opposed to toeing the company line. Beckham scored.. again. Donovan missed yet another sitter and consistently underperformed. He's fast but he has no quality. The vast majority of his goals come from penalty kicks. The hypocrisy that you are perpetuating sickens me. Donovan was gone on loan too. He also wanted to extend his loan spell. FACT: If he had his choice, he would have made the move permanent. The only difference in the two situations is that the team said they weren't interested. In short he wasn't good enough to stay. You've lost a lot of respect lately. My suggestion to you is to regain your integrity before you get the JP Dellacamera treatment: mute.
